Welcome to DocuMind! This Privacy Policy describes how DocuMind (“we”, “our”, “us”, or the “App”) handles information when you use our mobile application.

Our Commitment: DocuMind is built with a privacy-first approach. All document processing and AI-powered analysis happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to your documents or personal data.

What We DO NOT Collect

DocuMind does NOT collect any of the following:

Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, or any identifying information
Document Data: Contents of PDFs, Word documents, or any text you analyze
Conversation Data: Questions you ask or AI responses generated
Usage Data: How you use the app, features accessed, or session duration
Device Information: Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or hardware information
Location Data: GPS coordinates or location history
Analytics Data: No behavioral tracking or analytics of any kind

How the App Works

On-Device AI Processing

DocuMind uses an on-device AI model (Gemma-3 1B) that runs entirely on your smartphone:

The AI model is downloaded once and stored locally
All AI inference happens on your device’s processor
No data is sent to external AI services or cloud servers
Your questions and documents never leave your phone

URL Content Extraction

When you use the “URL” feature to analyze a web page:

Your device connects directly to the website URL you provide
The webpage content is downloaded to your device and processed locally
We do not proxy, intercept, log, or store any URL requests
This is the only feature that requires internet connectivity

Data Lifecycle

Loading: Documents are loaded into temporary memory (RAM)
Processing: Text extraction and AI analysis occur in memory
Clearing: When you clear a document or close the app, all data is removed from memory
No Persistence: Documents are never saved to permanent storage

Third-Party Services

DocuMind uses the following Google Play services:

Does not transmit your document data to Google

Services We DO NOT Use

DocuMind does NOT integrate:

Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics
Facebook SDK or any social media SDKs
Crashlytics or crash reporting services
Advertising networks or ad SDKs
User tracking or behavioral analytics tools

Permissions

DocuMind requests minimal permissions:

Note: The app functions fully offline except for the URL extraction feature.

Data Security

Although we don’t collect your data, we implement security best practices:

HTTPS Only: All network connections use encrypted HTTPS
No Data Transmission: Your documents never leave your device
Code Protection: App code is obfuscated using ProGuard/R8
Secure Storage: Temporary data uses Android’s secure memory management
No Logging: The release build does not log any user data

Children’s Privacy

DocuMind does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age. Since we collect no data, the app is inherently compliant with:

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provisions for minors

Your Privacy Rights

Since DocuMind does not collect personal data:

No Data to Access: There is no stored data to request access to
No Data to Delete: There is no stored data to delete
No Data to Port: There is no data to export or transfer
Full Control: You maintain complete control over your documents at all times

International Users

DocuMind processes all data locally on your device regardless of your location. Since no data is transmitted to external servers, there are no cross-border data transfers to consider.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be indicated by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
